Composer for film, television and games
About
Beatrice de Trenqualye is a British/Canadian composer for film, television, and video-games based in London. She has composed scores for films screened at Academy Award and BAFTA qualifying festivals worldwide, including Vancouver International Film Festival, London Short Film Festival, and Aesthetica Film Festival.
She works both with traditional palettes as well as electronics and modern production techniques. Collaboration and story-telling are central to her process and she aims to craft a unique sound-world for each new project.
Films she has scored have gained recognition from both BAFTA and the Royal Television Society as well as a host of awards and nominations including a Jury Award win for Best Short Documentary at the Edmonton International Film Festival (Van Pianist), a Best Newcomer Award nomination at Green Screen International Wildlife Film Festival (Against the Odds), and Jury Award win for Best Short Documentary at Flickerfest International Short Film Festival (No Two Ways).
Before beginning her career as a composer, Beatrice trained as a concert pianist. She holds a masters degree in piano performance from McGill University in Montreal. She later trained in composition and received a second MA in composing for film at the National Film and Television School in the United Kingdom.
